I am pretty sure this place is one of my favorite restaurants on earth. I’ve traveled the world and have eaten many types of cuisine. The menu is constantly changing and the food is TOP NOTCH! Also the service is excellent! Tonight we had the sun chokes, veal and steak! All 3 dishes were mind blowing! Our desert was toffee pudding and I have no words! I’m obsessed.

What to say about The Grand Tavern? Right from out front the place tells you all you need to know - it’s unfussy but bold. This continues throughout your experience. It is so hard to get the line right between amazing food, fantastic service and unfussy, unpretentious dining. But Grand Tavern manage it every time. The signature cocktail for the night - the Dove 4.0 is tequila, agave, crème de Violeta and some lime. It’s bold, uncomplicated and delicious. Getting it yet? The rigatoni with clams and shrimps is a meal in itself. The ricotta drenched in sweet dressing and served on toast is like a pre-desert. The scallops are so soft it’s like they’re made of butter. The burger, medium rare is rich, punchy with the sauce and pickles, and balanced by the smothered cheese and the skin-on fries. And desert is a deconstructed key lime pie. I’ll let you guess how good it was. Service is exceptional, the prices are just the right side of pricey, but still expensive - entrees are between $25-$45, but you’re paying for the best food, drinks and atmosphere in the area. An absolute five star experience. Things to know: the menu is online only, so no paper is wasted - its on their website. Kids are welcome, but bring your own high chair and food- they can’t heat it for you.

Really fantastic meal & culinary experience all around. We got the oysters au gratin, rigatoni, wings, bangers & mash and burgers and each was somehow better than we could have imagined and the meal was spaced out at the perfect pace. The restaurant itself is sleek & charming and the ambiance was exquisite with great music, candlelight and camaraderie all night. We owe a special shoutout to Chef Ray who went above & beyond in making it an unforgettable meal for us! Can't wait to return & try out all of their future menus!

A Little Slice of Culinary Heaven in a Tiny Package There are those rare places you walk into that instantly feel right—like you’re meant to be there. This restaurant is one of them. It’s got that undeniable hipster vibe that’s not forced, but natural. Unpretentious, a little rough around the edges, but in the best possible way. The kind of place where the moment you sit down, you can tell everything that’s happening around you is authentic. Now, let’s talk about the food. It’s fing incredible.* This isn’t some overpriced, trendy spot with small plates that make you question your life choices; this is the kind of food that makes you think, “Damn, I never knew food could taste like this.” Whether it’s the richness of a perfectly braised meat, or a simple dish that just works—every plate here has its own soul. And the best part? The menu changes all the time. The dishes evolve, keeping you coming back to see what’s next. The place itself is small, but that’s what makes it special. It’s personal. There’s nowhere to hide—every dish gets the attention it deserves, and the service reflects that. The staff isn’t just going through the motions—they’re sharp, engaged, and truly care about the experience you’re having. What really sets this place apart is the menu. Constantly shifting, evolving, and keeping you on your toes. One week it’s fresh, seasonal ingredients, the next, something new you can’t stop thinking about. The changes keep you coming back. I’ve been back multiple times, and every single visit feels like a new chapter in a story that keeps unfolding. The food, the atmosphere, the service—they all mesh together in a way that makes you want to come back again and again. This place is more than just a meal—it’s a reminder that food can be an experience. If you want a place that’s always fresh, always daring, and always worth your time, this is it. Just be warned: once you’ve had a bite here, you won’t want to go anywhere else.

Top 3, if not the best restaurant you can go too. Anything these guys cook up is absolutely fire. They don’t miss 😂 best burger east of the Mississippi. I got the tuna tartare, sword fish, chicken Milanese and burger. All 10/10. And that dessert SHEEEEESH. Orange cream aromas hitting your tongue

Food was delicious and unique - we came on a bustling Friday with a reservation, and was seated immediately. The service was good and it really felt special inside. A tavern vibe, dimly lit, and tastes that you really can’t find in the immediate area. It was definitely pricey, but we will definitely be coming back and keeping this in our rotation for date night spots. Recommendations: the burger, the fried squash with ricotta and marmalade, and the dessert

This is one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to. Consistently amazing food (and I say this as a pescatarian with usually just a few or 1 entree choice on the rotating menu; the ingredients and flavor profiles are unique and worthy of the prices. The cocktails are inventive. We love sitting at the bar when we don't come with a group because the staff is so lovely to chat with. It's more of an "every now and again" restaurant for us and the staff consistently remembers us, which is really cool. We haven't ever had room for dessert but it looks amazing and one of these days, we'll get it!

Had some incredible dishes, uniquely crafted. Pork Belly Skins were perfectly cooked, crunchy, sweet with Thai sauce and peppers with some serious kick on the side. For Entree I had crispy pan seared scallops tender and very little sand (which is to be expected) Maybe only 2 out of 5 medallions had a grain of sand but the sauce and corn salad it came on took my dish to another level. Inside is dark and can be loud but we had a quiet corner for a Wednesday. Really looking forward to going again

This is my favorite restaurant in all of NJ. I moved to Florida 2 years ago, but on my trips back to NJ I make a point to come here more than once because it is that good. The creative dishes and drinks are always on point and made to perfection. Menu is changed up every 3 months or so, you never get tired of the same old menu items! The owner Ashley is always on site and is always absolute pleasure to deal with! Wine list is made up of very affordable and unique wines that you typically don’t see. Service is always top notch. Can’t recommend Grand Tavern enough!! I literally recommend every item on the menu.
